The Pilot

This blog was created because I believe that what I have to say is important. Its the exorcism of my first amendment right to write to you what I think is important as it is yours to not care about what I have to say.

People with opinions have opinions because what they believe was challenged by someone else with an opinion. I believe that the logic I have used to formulate the opinions I will be conveying in this blog hold enough weight to be written somewhere, i.e. here.

This blog is entitled Innovation and Inspiration because it will contain much innovation and even much more inspiration. What inspired me, who I have inspired, and most importantly, who I will be inspiring.

Some of my friends call me a raging liberal. Some of my friends call me a closet republican. Others tell me I'm a libertarian. And some would even stretch to call me a communist. What I am is for you to decide. You will know everything I believe by the end.

I was always told that I should write a book. Maybe this blog will someday turn into part of a book I write. Each post could be a chapter. I will write a book someday, but who has the time.

Maybe to understand me better you should know a little bit about my background. The about me section talks about the beginning of how I got into politics, but core values come from somewhere much deeper. They come from the heart. They come from your family. And most importantly, they come from your mother and/or father. The most important trait about me is everything went in to how I was raised.

There are few people (that aren't very religious) that I have found with a stronger sense of core value than I. Excluding the religious there is my best friend Reed A Wilson. You can't spell the word 'Pure' without my better half (in the most heterosexual way possible).

Everything I do is righteous because of the way my mother and father raised me. I have to kick in some special attribution to my mother because a majority of the rearing came from her. The thought of consciously hurting another being is completely beyond me. The things that some people do are just so outrageous it makes you wonder.

You wonder if this person ever even had a mama to teach him/her right from wrong. You wonder if this person's mama is rolling in her grave, or even balling her eyes out at the television as she sees her son/daughter being handcuffed on the news for some felony. There has to be some breakdown in the functional system that is life. Child is raised - grows up - marries - has kids - raises kids - kid grows up - kid gets married - kid has your grandchild. Somewhere a parent messed up big time and it hurts me personally to witness.

Everywhere in America there are breaks in the functional system that is our norm. Americans are meant to finish high school. Americans are not meant to do drugs. Americans are supposed to vote. Americans are supposed to be free. Lately, America has proved that it needs to be guided on many things. There are two stances - government intervenes and government doesn't intervene. Some things need the government, like the education process. Some things don't need government, like the practicing of religion.

Norms have been passed down and reformed through tradition for centuries. Clearly when the forefathers said you have a right to bear arms, they weren't preserving your right to carry around automatic weapons in public areas. Automatic weapons didn't exist then - hence reformation. When a norm breaks in the system, the government must intervene. Now there is a question, should the government have the right to preemptively intervene in a potential break in the system? I will discuss that later. So who gets to decide when there is a break in the system, and to what extent is the norm broken. Can the break be fixed with federal marshals, and amendment, time, or even a war? I will discuss that too. The bulk of the issues I discuss can be traced back to improving home life. This will be easily relatable to a Cross-Cultural Communication class that is completely irrelevant to anything important, but everything you read or talk about always has to be tied back to “cross-cultural communication.” Sorry but it's getting ridiculous Professor Nimer.

Before there is too much of a tangential problem, it cannot be overlooked that tomorrow is a very important day. Tomorrow is going to be the election of the first black president of the United States of America (knock knock knock). I have realistically done the math from a completely bipartisan standpoint and Senator Barack Obama wins every time. If you take a neutral - repeat of Bush-Kerry 2004 election map, switch Iowa and New Mexico to blue, as they should be, you can use this as a base map. The only debate is whether Penn goes red or blue, but anyone without screws loose can tell you that the media is playing the "close race" mind game to keep it interesting. Obama will win Pennsylvania. If we branch off from our base and look at some polls, Virginia, Nevada, Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Colorado, North Carolina and Indiana are all in very close contention. In any combination, Senator Obama needs to win any two of the previously listed states. And in some cases, he would only need to swing one of the previously listed states. Following this sentence you will find my "Obama-worst-case-scenario" prediction of the 2008 Presidential Contention between Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain. The democratic ticket will swing 288 electoral votes, and the republican ticket will swing 250. My "Obama-best-case-scenario" prediction places 374 in the blue column and 164 in the red column. My official prediction is 321 to 217 Democrats. But as my disclaimer for that number I have no idea what to do with Missouri. Its 321 to 217 if it goes blue, and 310 to 228 if it goes red. Either way, my buddy Barack takes the cake... and dare I say he'll eat it in the Oval office too. Unfortunately this is the extent of my election coverage because I have a couple research papers to write that are due in the next week or two. I only added this segment to The Pilot because I need my prediction published before November 5th at 3am (Ohio and Florida recount). So there it was.

Finally, I want to quickly lay out what I would like to accomplish through this blog:
  • I would like to convert some people to my ideals
  • I would like to publish my ideas
  • I would like to informally start writing my book
  • I would like to start building support amongst those who feel the way I feel
  • I would like to serve as a medium of entertainment for blog hunters
  • I would like to make this a hobby
and finally
  • I would like to announce my candidacy for the 2016 election for House of Representative from the 13th district of Illinois (Du Page County). (The first election after my 25th birthday).

By its completion, this blog will contain every opinion I hold, supported with facts, of course, and will also contain the up to date evolution to those opinions. The situation of the world is changing, and so is this blog. Feel free to exorcise your first amendment right to criticize and debate with anything I write.

Thank you for your time. And as a final disclaimer, nothing written is ever written with the intent of offending anyone (that doesn't deserve to
